Carbonized Chopsticks, Toothpicks, How It's Made?
Premium raw materials which suitable for making chopsticks and toothpicks, we screened to remove pests, diseases and poor quality parts, and then sawn into segments according to established dimensions after peeling and drying. The sawn material is further processed and cut into the basic shapes of chopsticks and toothpicks, called blanks.

The blanks are polished several times to remove all sharp edges and burrs to ensure that they are comfortable to the touch and safe to use. The polished blanks are placed in an oven at a controlled temperature between 300 and 500 degrees Celsius for high temperature charring. The water in the wood and bamboo is evaporated, making the chopsticks and toothpicks harder and more durable. At the same time, the high temperatures also give the chopsticks and toothpicks a dark brown color that is water resistant. This process not only hardens the material, but also gives the product a unique color and certain moisture and corrosion resistant properties.

After carbonization, the chopsticks and toothpicks need to be cooled naturally, followed by a second round of more meticulous grinding and polishing to enhance the look and feel. The whole production process has strict requirements for temperature, time and material quality control, and any negligence in any step may affect the quality of the final products.
